Fixes for the things that most often go wrong.
The extension or app won't let me sign in#
Check that you've opened the email verification link. Both refuse unverified accounts and offer a "resend" button on that screen.
"Log in with web" does nothing#
It needs a KeepInVault tab that's open and unlocked. Open the web vault, unlock it, then try again.
My browser keeps offering to save passwords itself#
Its built-in password manager is still on. See Browser configuration.
The extension disappeared after restarting my browser#
In Firefox this is expected: a temporary add-on is removed on every restart until there's a signed listing. Load it again from the extension page. If you installed an unpacked copy in Chrome before the store listing existed, remove it and install from the Chrome Web Store so it updates automatically.
Android autofill doesn't appear in other apps#
Confirm Settings → Autofill in the app reads On. Android allows only one autofill service at a time, so installing or selecting another password manager silently replaces KeepInVault.
The QR sign-in code won't scan#
Scan it from inside the app's "Log in with QR code" screen, not your phone's camera app, and generate a fresh one if it's been on screen a while — codes expire within seconds.
I forgot my master password#
Use your recovery code on the forgot password page. Without it, nobody — including us — can decrypt your vault.
