Teams & sharing

Shared vaults for an organization, and one-off share links.

If you're sharing credentials with other people, an organization gives you shared vaults with per-person access — instead of passing passwords around in chat, where they stay forever.

Set up an organization#

  1. 1

    Create it

In the web vault, open Team and create an organization by name. You become its owner.
  2. 2

    Add collections

A collection is the unit of sharing — members only ever see the collections they've been added to. Group by what people actually need: "Deploy keys", "Design tools", "Finance".
  3. 3

    Invite people

Invite teammates by email with an access level. They accept from the invite link, and shared items decrypt on their device — the server still never holds a key.

One-off sharing#

You don't need an organization to send someone a single credential. Create a share link from any item — optionally PIN-protected, time-limited, or set to destroy itself after the first view.

For machines, not people

Organizations also unlock service accounts (API access for your own backend or CI) and "Sign in with KeepInVault". Both are on the developer guide.
